2021 Careathon to benefit pediatric cancer patients is August 20 – 104.5 WOKV

Jacksonville, Florida – The 2021 Careathon for pediatric cancer patients and their families is fast approaching, Aug. 20. A team of Cox Media Group hosts will be live at Nemours Children’s Health in Jacksonville for a 13-hour broadcast dedicated to raising money for the Children’s Cancer Fund.

Now in its 7th year, Careathon has raised more than $1.2 million dollars. Donations have gone to a limited fund that will forever fund the Child Life Specialist in Nemours, help with paying bills, tutoring, food stamps, gas cards and more.

Every dollar raised through Careathon directly benefits the families of pediatric cancer patients, who face enormous costs during the months and years of treatment.

Child Cancer Fund partners with families of pediatric cancer patients and provides programs and services to 300 families each year. This charity is small but mighty, with a full-time employee who years ago battled cancer with her young son. Carla Montgomery understands the challenge and horror of childhood cancer.
