Ashley Cain announces launch of the Azaylia Foundation in “fearless” fight against childhood cancer

Former Ex On The Beach star, Ashley Cain has announced the launch date of the Azaylia Foundation, named after his daughter who tragically died of a rare form of leukemia.

Baby Azalyia Diamond Cain contracted the rare cancer when she was just eight weeks old and lost her battle when she was eight months old.

The grieving parents, Ashley and his wife Safiyya pledged to establish a foundation in her honor to provide life-saving funds to children with cancer.

Today, the former Coventry City footballer announced that he would be officially launched on Tuesday, August 31.

The star wrote in an Instagram post: “The legacy Azaylia left behind in the eight months she has graced this earth is beyond comprehension and I am proud to announce it will continue through @theazayliafoundation, which Safiyya and I with great pleasure to launch on the 31 August.”

Cain revealed that for the first time since the loss of his daughter, he ventured to meet presenter Fearne Cotton and share his journey with his “incredible daughter” on her podcast.

He added: “It was the first time I’ve been on the road since losing Azaylia and I couldn’t have asked for a more welcoming, warm environment or a more invested host for the first time I spoke in depth about my journey. daughters.

“We have shared words, tears and powerful moments that I hope will help, strengthen and raise so much awareness around childhood cancer for those who listen and provide comfort to those who are grieving.”

The public had raised more than £1 million to save the life of baby Azaylia after Cain launched a fundraiser to cover the costs of specialist cancer treatment.

After her heartbreaking death, the husband and wife vowed to “pay it forward” by establishing the foundation.

Ashley wrote, “We strive to raise awareness and life-saving funds for children with cancer and bring light and relief to their families at a time when darkness threatens to take over.

“And like Azaylia, we WILL be DIFFERENCES in the fight against childhood cancer.

“We wouldn’t be where we are today without the amazing support of the community united in our love for Azaylia and we want to thank everyone who has donated and shared our story, without you this wouldn’t be possible.”
