CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas – Driscoll Health System is sponsoring the 28th Annual Pediatric Conference, which will be held virtually as Webex lectures this year due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
Driscoll Children’s Hospital physicians and others will be among the speakers at the conference, which will be held on July 16 and 17. The event is open to physicians providing pediatric care, primary care physicians, registered nurses, advanced practice professionals, medical students, and public health professionals. The focus of the conference will be on providing the latest information on pediatric subspecialties.
Including four hours of education in medical ethics, this conference offers up to 12 hours in AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™.
The conference will highlight many challenges involved in pediatric clinical care. Conference topics were chosen on the basis of educational needs determined on the basis of identified gaps in professional practice obtained from conference evaluations of previous years.
President of the American Academy of Pediatrics Lee S. Beers, MD, FAAP, the keynote speaker at the conference, will provide an AAP update on the child health policy agenda for 2021 and moving forward.
Alumni speaker is Jo-Ann Nesiama, MD, MS, FAAP, Class of 2001, Associate Director of the Pediatric Emergency Fellowship Program at UT Southwestern Medical Center, Children’s Medical Center in Dallas.
