Drop in childhood vaccinations during pandemic may raise risk of outbreaks of other diseases when schools reopen, CDC says

The decline in HPV vaccinations worries pediatricians such as Todd Wolynn, a pediatrician and chief executive at Pittsburgh-based KidsPlus Pediatrics. Unlike diseases like measles that appear immediately, it can take years, even decades, for HPV infections to develop into cancers of the cervix, vagina, and penis, according to the CDC.
