E-cigarette legislation hurts kids while helping Big Tobacco | Commentary

Both bills contain severe penalties for young people who buy, use or possess tobacco products, including suspension and revocation of driver’s licenses that would create an additional barrier for teens to go to work or school. Because black and Latin youth are more often cited than their white counterparts, such laws would also allow law enforcement officers to approach or harass children of color in under-resourced communities.
