Local Students Host Children and Mental Health Panel and Fundraiser in Support of Pediatric Mental Health at Overlook

BERKELEY HEIGHTS, NJ – The 2020-21 Junior Board members of the Overlook Foundation will hold a panel discussion on the mental health of teens in our community in support of children’s mental health at Overlook on Thursday, April 22 from 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM. via Zoom.

Griffin Faecher, a junior with Pingry, and Jadyn Riggi, a junior with Gov. Livingston High School, both from Berkeley Heights, are part of the Overlook Foundation’s 15 student Junior Board representing high schools in the area.

These students learn firsthand about philanthropy in healthcare. They are tasked with selecting a meaningful target for their fundraising campaign, and this year the Junior Board has chosen to develop a private section at Overlook Hospital’s pediatric emergency room specifically for children and teens who have symptoms of mental illness. have disorders.

“The COVID-19 pandemic has put children and teens at risk, forcing them to endure increasingly stressful situations at home, at school, and with family and friends. everyone and all children suffering from this unprecedented physical, social and emotional shift, ”Faecher and Riggi said in a joint statement.

The students will host the informative virtual panel of esteemed physicians who discuss high-priority issues that children are currently facing. Join them this Thursday night by signing up to listen and learn from their panel of doctors.
