Stars turn out for Kids in Crisis fundraiser at Perfect Provenance in Greenwich

Scene… The Perfect Provenance hosted a weekend of shopping for Kids in Crisis, donating 10 percent of item sales last weekend, including a wine and chocolate tasting with Napa Valley’s One Hope Wines and locally owned Pure Happinuts. Owner and former resident of Greenwich Lisa Lori was in town from California for the festivities. The event and in-store over the weekend featured WNBC-TV newscaster and Stamford resident Chuck Scarborough and his wife Ellen, who enjoyed lunch on Saturday; Howard Stern’s producer Gary Dell’abate and his wife Maria from Riverside; CNN anchor Alisyn Camerota from Greenwich; and the editor-in-chief of Greenwich Magazine Cristin Marandino. In addition to the Greenwich flagship store, The Perfect Provenance opened a store in Tiburon, California in July, and a third location in Napa in May. Based in Greenwich, Kids in Crisis works for the well-being of children with essential 24-hour shifts.

Beyond… The Greenwich Botanical Center will hold its May Gardener’s Market on Saturday, May 1, from 9:00 am to 2:30 pm. The market will feature a variety of dealers gathered at the GBC in Montgomery Pinetum, offering a wide range of plants, horticultural inspired accessories and organic food products. An eco project for children is also offered. The annual fundraiser supports the Greenwich Botanical Center’s educational and senior outreach programs. Scene… The Breast Cancer Alliance kicks off on Saturday, May 1 with its “Wellness Month & Get Fit For Hope Challenge: A Series of Fitness and Health Events”. During the fitness classes and programs that run through May 30 – aging skin care; get your best night’s sleep; the role of supplements; healthy cooking for weekday meals; dealing with stress and anxiety in young adults; the importance of genetic screening; yoga and guided meditation; benefits of essential oils; total body strength; boxing; barre and yoga. BCA Wellness Month Ambassador, Actress Katie Wee and BCA Teen Wellness Month Ambassador, actress and resident of Greenwich Ashley Aufderheide will participate. Events are held virtually and where possible in COVID-safe areas. All proceeds will benefit the Breast Cancer Alliance and its 2022 fellowships to invest in innovative research and fellowships in its mission to fight breast cancer. Beyond… The Greenwich Historical Society is once again organizing Tavern Garden Markets, starting on May 5 and alternating on Wednesdays. The markets will feature a range of items from food and flowers to items curated by local growers, producers and artisans. The rate includes special items from Versailles Farm; bread and pastries from Wave Hill Breads; treats from Dough Girl; and prepare food to enjoy for lunch or to take home for dinner. Patrons can stroll the campus, shop at the market, and enjoy an iced coffee at the Artist’s Café. Patrons can also pick up or reserve farm-fresh produce and eggs from Double L Market, freshly cut peonies and dahlias from the award-winning Bear Creek Farm, and enjoy bringing your own Flower Bar vase with Meg CritchellEach session includes pre-ordered meal packs from local chefs and caterers. Beyond… The Greenwich International Film Festival sponsors The Best of Aspen Trunk Show from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Thursday, May 6 at a private residence in Greenwich. The trunk show features Antedotum, Aspen’s luxury CBD skincare line. In total, 20 percent of the proceeds will go to GIFF.
